love doesn’t knows no time

*

just like an old song

spinning inside heads

wondering if love may grow

and took over the hostility like an ocean wave

washed away the anger with the drifting tide

*

like the dawn breaking the night

leave the wound of the past

assuring that we will be able to face tomorrow

to see the rising sun with smile

lighting up the day for everyone

*

though so much pain we’ve perceived

there is also so much hope lies in the future

cannot be predicted but will be faced

and the time will lead us

*

though it’s going to be a long journey

we’ve should begin now

do not ask when will we stop

because love doesn’t knows no time

a mother’s love

*

*

My mom only had one eye. I hated her… She was such an embarrassment.
She cooked for students and teachers to support the family.

There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me.
I was so embarrassed.

How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out.
The next day at school one of my classmates said, ‘Eeeeee…, your mom only has one eye!’

I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear.
I confronted her that day and said,
‘ If you’re only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don’t you just die?’

My mom did not respond… I didn’t even stop to think for a second about what I had said,
because I was full of anger. I was oblivious to her feelings.

I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her.
So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study.

Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own.
I had kids of my own. I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts.
Then one day, my Mother came to visit me.
She hadn’t seen me in years and she didn’t even meet her grandchildren.

When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her,
and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited.
I screamed at her, ‘How dare you come to my house and scare my children!
“Get out of here! Now!!!”

And to this, my mother quietly answered, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry.
I may have gotten the wrong address,’ and she disappeared out of sight.

One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house.
So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip.
After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.

My neighbors said that she died. I did not shed a single tear.
They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

*

‘My dearest son,

I think of you all the time. I’m sorry that I came to your house and scared your children.

I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.
But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you.
I’m sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up.

You see……..when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye.
As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with one eye.
So I gave you mine.

I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place,
with…. that eye.

With all my love to you,

Your mother.

the whisper of femininity

*

*

1266169-bigthumbnail

*

close your eyes for a moment

take a deep breath

carefully hear it

the soul of your femininity is whispering

please realize that you are beautiful as a rose

feel  the fragrant and spread it

show the beautiful color with proud

but hide your thorns if not necessary

let the vision be the guidance

allow the mission to clear your path

as you step boldly for being a wonderful woman

you’ve been created for life’s sweetness and bitterness

and ready to jump over the obstacles

again…., take a deep breath

you are lovely as butterfly

feel  the beauty of the wings

keep up to always be strong

to fly if you were not appreciated nor respected

and inappropriate to be underestimated

you are so valuable

now….  open your eyes

it’s time to live it with confidence

but fly away….

if you’re self-esteem was trampled

NEVER TAKE LOVE FOR GRANTED

A very poor man lived with his wife.
One day, his wife, who had very long hair asked him to buy her a comb
for her hair to grow well and to be well-groomed.

The man felt very sorry and said no.
He explained that he did not even have enough money
to fix the strap of his watch he had just broken.
She did not insist on her request.

The man went to work and passed by a watch shop,
sold his damaged watch at a low price and went to buy a comb for his wife.

He came home in the evening with the comb in his hand ready to give to his wife.

He was surprised when he saw his wife with a very short hair cut.

She had sold her hair and was holding a new watch band.

Tears flowed simultaneously from their eyes,
not for the futility of their actions, but for the reciprocity of their love.

To love is nothing, to be loved is something
but to love and to be loved by the one you love,
that is everything.
Never take love for granted..!!

if yes is the answer

Let me be the verses of love

to be with you in solitude

and fill the lonely nights

with dreams

*

Let me be the verses of life

to wet the barren of your hope

and strengthen the fragile soul

with confidence

*

let me be the verses of song

to entertain the sadness

and lifted your passion

through the tones

take me

if yes is the answer

the song of bamboo leaves

*

*

I slowed my step

watching the lodge carefully

the bamboo leaves was increasingly shade and skewed

but the lodge was still the same

as the last time I came

nothing has changed

when I opened the door

as if I saw my grandmother

sitting in her rocking chair

staring out the window…. humming

then I see myself come, clinging and question her

you are humming grandmother,…. what song?

oo ….  just follow the song of bamboo leaves my dear

a dragonfly passed by in front of my face

disperse my musings

I enter the lodge and sit on grandma’s rocking chair

try to understand the thing that she did

in silence …. I began to hear

a lovely song

I let it flow within this soul

to blend with the memories of my childhood

the song of bamboo leaves

filled my longing of grandma’s warm hug

if there were visiting hours in heaven

*

*

*

they had gone to heaven

because in there they were freed

of burden and responsibility

*
they had gone to heaven

because there was no suffering

only love and eternal peace

*

they had gone to heaven

because there was no suffering

and they will found happiness

*

I asked; “why didn’t you invite me?”

they replied: “your time has not yet come”

then I asked again; ” could I visit you if I miss?”

and an angel interrupt the conversation said;

“there is no visiting hours in heaven!”

the missing smile

*

575194-bigthumbnail

*

it has lasted long enough

moaning and sighing resignedly

like a melody …. but sounds poignant

the time almost stopped

“stay with me Ning” I said

but the death pressed his chest

unplug his suffering

and there’s a smile on his face

which been missing for nearly two years

“goodbye Ning”

might be the best … for you

and I turned away

took the pictured of your last smile

where the stories of our friendship stored

***

Dedicated to my best friend ‘Ning’,
who fought against throat cancer for almost two years.
Sad of losing you but also relieved that you freed of pain.
You will always be in my heart my dear…. always.
