I WISH YOU ENOUGH.

Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport
as the daughter’s departure had been announced. Standing near the security gate, they hugged
and the mother said: “I love you and I wish you enough.”

The daughter replied, “Mom, our life together has been more than enough.
Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom.”
They kissed and the daughter left.

The mother walked over to the window where I sat.
Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry.

I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking,
“Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?”
“Yes, I have,” I replied. “Forgive me for asking but why is this a forever good-bye?”

“I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is the next trip
back will be for my funeral,” she said.

When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, “I wish you enough.
” May I ask what that means?”

She began to smile. “That’s a wish that has been handed down from other generations.
My parents used to say it to everyone.”
She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in
detail and she smiled even more.

“When we said ‘I wish you enough’ we were wanting the other person to have
a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them”.
Then turning toward me, she shared the following, reciting it from memory,

“I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.”

She then began to cry and walked away.

They say…., it takes
a minute to find a special person.
an hour to appreciate them.

a day to love them.
and an entire life to forget them.

was not for me

sir
play me a song
then I will dance for you

sir
why you are so silent
is something bothering
tell me
I might could help

tell me……
if you’re sad…., then I will make you happy
if you’re lonely …., then I will be by your side
if there is something to say…., I will be a good listener
and
he looked at me in doubt
said “I miss her”

o sir
tell the wind
it will blow your longing to her

then
I run to the edge of the sky
while tears falling heavy as rain
the longing was not for me

a memory of the first July

among the clouds on the blue sky

white doves flying elegantly

knitting a limitless daydream

of the long waiting

brightly sky became cloudy

shoo the white doves to marching home

left a loneliness spreading to the soul

daydream changed into sadness

cuts the thread of the waiting

tears fall on the lap

as rain wets the orchards

bitterness seeped to the heart

carved as the memory of the first July

don’t miss any chance to be Happy

As we grow up,

we learn that even the one person that wasn’t supposed

to ever let us down probably will.

We’ll have our heart-broken and we’ll break others’ hearts.

We’ll fight with our best friend or maybe even fall in love with them,

and we’ll cry because time is flying by.

So take too many pictures,

laugh too much,

forgive freely,

and love like we’ve never been hurt.

Life comes with no guarantees,

no time outs,

and no second chances.

we just have to live life to the fullest,

tell someone what they mean to us and tell someone off,

speak out,

dance in the pouring rain,

hold someone’s hand,

comfort a friend,

fall asleep watching the sun come up,

stay up late, be a flirt,

and smile until our face hurts.

Don’t be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all;

live in the moment because

every second we spend angry or upset

is a second of happiness we can never get back.

just wishes

I dance while crying in the rain

hoping this faith will no longer tempted

by a momentary lust

I dance while crying in the rain

wishing for no more mistakes

caused by worldly vices

I dance while crying in the rain

hope that body and soul will cleaned

of disgraceful thoughts and actions

when the rain stops

the wishes gone

I did not became clean

even

wallowed in the mud of dilapidation
